Bertazzoni Oven Not Igniting – Spark Module Repair in Brooklyn
A real KLIA NY appliance repair case.
Customer-reported problem
The customer reported that the oven had stopped igniting. A clicking sound could still be heard when the thermostat was turned on, but neither the bake nor broil burner would ignite.
Diagnosis
Testing confirmed that both the bake and broil ignition systems were affected. The range produced the normal clicking sound during an ignition attempt, but no spark was reaching the oven ignition electrodes. The cooktop was disassembled to access the ignition components and spark module. Incoming power to the spark module was checked and approximately 120 VAC was present, confirming that the upstream control circuit was supplying power correctly. Despite receiving proper line voltage, the spark module was not producing ignition output to the oven electrodes. One cooktop spark electrode was also not operating correctly. Based on these measurements, the spark module was identified as the failed component.
Repair performed
A compatible replacement spark module was available on the service vehicle and was installed during the same visit. After replacement, the oven ignition system was tested with both Bake and Broil functions. Spark returned normally and both oven burners ignited correctly. The affected cooktop ignition circuit was also checked during the repair.
Result
The Bertazzoni range returned to normal operation immediately after the spark module replacement. Both Bake and Broil ignited properly, confirming the diagnosis. The entire repair was completed during a single service visit without the need for a return appointment.
